I have been singing the praises of electric pressure cookers since 2015 after my friend Lacey convinced me to get one on Prime Day. She said I’d love it, and she was right.
We started with the basic 6qt Instant Pot DUO, and have since owned multiple other Instant Pot models and sizes. For four years now, I have been using my electric pressure cookers daily for everything from breakfast to dinner and lots in between. I’ve turned all this experience into recipes, reviews, tips, videos, and now an Instant Pot cookbook.
Up until this summer, though, I had only used the Instant Pot brand electric pressure cookers. When a Mealthy rep reached out and offered to send me a MultiPot to review, I jumped at the chance because I wanted to try another brand and also because I knew I already loved Mealthy’s CrispLid air-fryer attachment.
I have been using the Mealthy MultiPot for several months now, for everything from yogurt to soups to pot-in-pot dinners, and I’m finally ready to share my review and tell you what I think about this electric pressure cooker!
Thanks to Mealthy’s generosity, I also have a MultiPot to give away AND a discount code, so make sure you go all the way to the end of this post and enter to win a new MultiPot!
Mealthy MultiPot Review & Giveaway!
What I love about the MultiPot ::
I have been using the MultiPot for several months now, and can safely say that I would highly recommend it! It’s easy to use, convenient, and versatile.
- It’s VERY user-friendly! The MultiPot’s function panel has 20 buttons and a digital screen that displays the time, pressure level, progress bar, and more. The buttons and functions are straightforward and easy to find.
- The black design is sleek and attractive. It just looks good, y’all.
- It comes with great accessories! The MultiPot comes with oven mitts, trivet, steamer basket, extra colored sealing ring, plus helpful cooking charts and access to the Mealthy recipe app.
- The pressure release is less “violent”. This may be anecdotal, but the pressure release with the MultiPot seems to be slower and more gentle than the Instant Pot.
How does the MultiPot compare to the Instant Pot?
As iconic as the Instant Pot has become, often being used synonymously with electric pressure cookers much as Crock-Pot and slow cooker, I think that one of the biggest questions is how the MultiPot compares to the Instant Pot.
As I mentioned before, I own several different models and am able to compare the MultiPot to the Instant Pot based on a lot of experience.
Simply and succinctly put, the Mealthy MultiPot is every bit as good as the Instant Pot. (They are, in fact, quite similar. If you have used an Instant Pot before, using the MultiPot will be very easy).
The MultiPot comes with 14 preset programs and a LCD screen that is easy to read and very helpful. This means that the MultiPot has twice as many presets at the Instant Pot DUO 7-1 and is most comparable to the Instant Pot ULTRA 10-1 (my favorite IP model).
I am honestly not one to use many of the preset cooking times, though I know that there are many who enjoy the convenience. I typically prefer to stick to the basics like Sauté, Pressure Cook, Yogurt, etc. However, the LCD screen has a progress bar that I love, and an easy-to-read countdown timer.
The one difference between the Mealthy MultiPot and the Instant Pot ULTRA is that the MultiPot does not automatically seal the pressure like the ULTRA does. This feature (or lack thereof) is not a deal breaker for me, but it is worth mentioning since that is one of my favorite features of the ULTRA.
One way that the MultiPot comes out ahead of the Instant Pot is in the accessories in the box. In addition to the standard trivet, oven mitts, and plastic tools we all throw away, the MultiPot comes with a steamer basket and an extra colored sealing ring. Both of these “extra” accessories are super useful to have on hand! (You can save that red ring for making iced tea in your MultiPot!)
The final comparison worth noting is that all the accessories that fit in the Instant Pot, and even the inner pot, fit perfectly into the Mealthy MultiPot. If you are already using an electric pressure cooker, you will not need to buy separate accessories for the MultiPot.
Final Thoughts ::
Whether you are considering your first electric pressure cooker, or your second or third, I highly recommend the MultiPot. If you follow here on the blog, or follow me Facebook or Instagram, you know how much I love my electric pressure cookers! I use them almost daily, often multiple times a day, and often putting two to use at the same time.
Just last week, I was put FOUR to use at the same time while I made dinner in one, had apple butter simmering in another, applesauce cooking in a third, and finally, was making apple pie filling in the fourth. (Watch how to make all these apple goodies on YouTube).
How many pressure cookers do you need?
I don’t necessarily think that most people need to own three or four electric pressure cookers. (Honestly, I was doing great with three, but like I said, I was excited to get the MultiPot!) BUT I definitely think that many families would benefit from and enjoy having two pressure cookers on hand. My favorite combination is 2 six-quarts because then the inner pots are interchangeable and the six-quarts are just generally a great size. However, having one 6qt and then a 3qt or an 8qt is another great idea.
When you have two pressure cookers at your disposal, you can more easily prep ingredients, cook from scratch, make main dishes in one and sides/dessert in the second, batch cook, and so on.

Great review! I would love another electric pressure cooker in my kitchen to go with my 8 qt! I often find that I wish I had another one for sides. Love that the Mealthy comes with the extras, that’s a plus for sure. I hope to buy a Mealthy Crisp Lid one day as well and I think we’d use it a lot, especially if there were two pressure cookers kickin’ around the kitchen. 😍

I love using pressure cookers and enjoy trying different ones. I started out using my mom’s stove top model when I was in college in the 80s. It’s older than me and I still have it even though I don’t use that one anymore.

I have always shied away from an the InstaPot thinking it wasnt worth the expense and effort…I like cooking and just didn’t feel like it was something worth figuring out how to use.
I sub in the schools and have been working a little more this year. After reading your blog and seeing everything you do in yours the idea has become tempting. Winning ine would be perfect!
