Does it look like Fall where you live yet? Here in North Carolina, the leaves are changing and pumpkins are in all the stores. Even so, the weather can’t decide if it is ready to keep the chill in the air. We keep having really warm days. The cool days still feel like a tease at this point.
We are breaking into our Fall recipes though, cool weather or not. Last week, we had a play date with friends to make pumpkin pop-tarts, we have enjoyed lots of applesauce after picking apples together, yesterday I brought this yummy Fall-spiced snacking cake to share at church, and today I am so excited to make a big batch of apple cider. Warmed and topped with fresh whipped cream– it is an amazing part of our Fall traditions.
So many of our Fall traditions fit well into this month’s Kids in the Kitchen series, and I have loved sharing them here. I am really enjoying hearing your comments and experiences from getting your kids in the kitchen too!
Here is this week’s short and simple tip of the day. I hope you all have a wonderful week and find even just a little nugget of time to cook with your children.
How are you enjoying the series so far?
Is there anything you’re hoping to see covered?

I love these ideas! I’ve been more focused on including my kids in the kitchen, too. I hadn’t thought to keep the play food in the actual kitchen.
Yes, it can be so helpful for them to “cook” alongside me while I can work!
I really need to remember to put the soapy water in the sink for my little guy to play in. Whatever splashes over to the floor would be put to good use!
Exactly!
like the plan to double up the mopping, my Miss 2 has just discovered the joy of helping to wash up.
It’s often the only mopping that happens in my kitchen for a while! 😉
