Y’all I am so excited to have found dried ramen noodles at the store without all the questionable ingredients that come in the little plastic pouches! Instant Pot ramen noodles has become an obsession and a very frequent snack in my home.
Don’t get me wrong, I ate PLENTY of those ten cent packages of ramen noodles my first year of college when I was at a school in Argentina. We were VERY thankful for them then.
However, now that knowing exactly what we are eating is more of a priority, especially if it something we will eat regularly, I prefer to make many of our foods from scratch if possible.
Thankfully, I have figured out how to make incredibly tasty ramen noodles in the Instant Pot in very little time and with very little effort!
When I was developing this recipe, it was very important to me that it was almost just as easy as opening up a package with the seasoning pack included. And, if I wanted my husband to get on board, the noodles and broth had to be just as tasty too. (Just without the MSG)
So I used dried spices and shelf-stable oils and soy sauce. The only fresh ingredient I use is one mushroom, which we always have on hand, but could also easily be left out if you prefer.
To up the healthy factor of this tasty little dish, use homemade stock. If you haven’t already made stock in your Instant Pot, you definitely need to give it a try. It’s so simple and will save you a lot of money. Not to mention homemade stock is good for you.
Instant Pot Ramen Noodles– My New Obsession!
I found dried ramen noodles at Whole Foods and I have been sure to keep them stocked in our kitchen. As with any pasta dish in the Instant Pot, pay attention to when the cook time finishes because you don’t want to leave your noodles sitting in the hot pot too long or they will overcook.
This recipe easily doubles or triples if you want more than one or two servings. Simply multiply the ingredients and leave the cook time the same.
Also, I really like this dish as a snack (mid-afternoon or late night), but you could make it a stand-alone meal by adding some cooked meat. Shredded chicken, sliced steak, or pork strips would all be delicious.
Instant Pot Ramen Noodles– My New Obsession!
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Cook Time: 1 minute high pressure
- Total Time: 15 minutes
- Yield: 1 serving 1x
- Method: pressure cooker
Description
These Instant Pot ramen noodles are my new obsession! They are SO EASY to make, healthier than the packaged version, and make an excellent afternoon or late night snack! Add some cooked chicken, steak, or pork to make it a full meal.
Ingredients
- 1 ramen “cake”
- 1 1/2 cup chicken stock
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp dried minced onion
- 1 tsp granulated garlic
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 thinly sliced mushroom
- Optional: chopped green onion
Instructions
- Pour the stock in the Instant Pot. Place in the ramen cake. Add the remaining ingredients on top of the ramen. Place the lid on your Instant Pot, turn the valve to sealing, and set the cook time to 1 minute on high pressure.
- When the cook time is complete, quick release the pressure. Carefully remove the lid, the toss the ramen noodles with a fork to loosen them and mix them together with the broth.
- Pour the ramen soup into a bowl and enjoy. (Optional: top with chopped green onion).
Notes
This recipe is so easy to make! Just be sure you are nearby when the cook time is complete because you need to release the pressure immediately to avoid overcooking the noodles.
You can easily double or triple the recipe to have more servings. Double or triple the ingredients, the cook time will remain the same.

I saw this recipe on your Instagram stories this week. Will you please tell me if you are using toasted sesame oil or plain sesame oil? Thanks!

Good recipe! Only thing I missed was some protein! I tripled the recipe. I added chicken because we were eating this for dinner. Before adding the noodles I cooked 4 boneless/skinless thighs in the broth/seasonings (8 minutes on HP/5 min natural release). I removed the thighs then cooked the noodles as directed in the IP, Family hit!

I just made this with the good ol’ instant ramen package and the noodles came out perfect! The flavor I chose isn’t the greatest, but I’m pleasantly surprised my IP could bang this out so quickly.

Just made this for my kids and I. Oh boy… it was so good. My kids love Ramon but I don’t like the packet they use in Ramon. So decided to try Lisa’s recipe.
All 3 kids said they loved it and want me to make this Ramon more often. #lunchwin

Do you remember the brand of noodles? I’m trying to order them from Whole Foods, but it’s not recognizing the search. This looks so yummy!
Ashley says
can you tell how they are sold at Whole Foods? I can’t find them, but I’m looking in the pasta section.
Lisa says
I find them with the Asian foods (soy sauce, lo mein noodles, etc). In my store, it’s right across from the mayo/mustard/pickles.
Tia says
I buy them at Costco.
