I love making and gifting zipper pouches because you can make them in any size and with an endless variation of prints. You can fill them with drawing supplies, toys, legos, etc for kids; or fill them with small gifts for adults.
Zipper pouches are also perfect for organizing things in your purse or backpack. You can even use laminated fabric on the inside and use it as a wet bag or snack bag!
How to Sew A Zipper Bag || Easy Project & Gift Idea!
Materials Needed ::
You only need a small amount of fabric, (one for the outside and one for the lining), a zipper, and coordinating thread. You can choose whatever size zipper you want, just remember to add two inches more that the length of the zipper when you are determining the width of the bag.
(For a 9″ zipper, you would cut 11″ wide pieces of fabric. You can make the bag as shallow or as deep as you prefer).
Another quick tip before I share the video is to use a heavier weight fabric for one layer of the bag (either the outside or the lining). This just helps to give your bag a little more weight/shape.
