Steel cut oats in the Instant Pot are so easy to prepare and make a wonderfully warm and filling breakfast! Give plain oats a fragrant, sweet twist with spices and chopped apples!
- 1 1/3 C steel cut oats
- 4 C water
- 1 (heaping) tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp all-spice
- 2 apples, chopped
- Combine all the ingredients in the Instant Pot liner. Stir to incorporate, then cover and seal.
- Cook for 3 minutes on high pressure. Let the pressure naturally release for ten minutes (this helps to give the oatmeal more time to thicken and set up).
- Serve with additional toppings of your choice. (We like maple syrup, grass-fed butter, and chopped pecans).
*Allow for about 10 minutes for the pot to come to pressure.
