Description

Steel cut oats in the Instant Pot are so easy to prepare and make a wonderfully warm and filling breakfast! Give plain oats a fragrant, sweet twist with spices and chopped apples!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/3 C steel cut oats
  • 4 C water
  • 1 (heaping) tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp all-spice
  • 2 apples, chopped

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in the Instant Pot liner. Stir to incorporate, then cover and seal.
  2. Cook for 3 minutes on high pressure. Let the pressure naturally release for ten minutes (this helps to give the oatmeal more time to thicken and set up).
  3. Serve with additional toppings of your choice. (We like maple syrup, grass-fed butter, and chopped pecans).

Notes

*Allow for about 10 minutes for the pot to come to pressure.
