I needed some new summer tops, so I asked Stitch Fix for a summer box. This is what they sent!

My twelfth Stitch Fix box arrived in the mail last week! I have been using Stitch Fix for two years now and so many of my favorite pieces in my closet are pieces that my Stitch Fix stylists sent me. (I used Stitch Fix through pregnancy and postpartum, though, so I don’t still have all those pieces, technically).
Now that Stitch Fix has boxes for kids, too, my older kids have each received fixes. They did a great job picking out clothes for my kids and it was fun for us to do the unboxing together and see what they sent.
Honestly, I had taken a break from Stitch Fix for the first half of this year. In part because I didn’t really need anything, and in part because I wanted to see if I should be trying to find less expensive/cheaper clothes.
However, after buying and returning tops from a couple of different stores…or simply not really being able to find anything in the first place, I decided it was time to request another box. Almost invariably, Stitch Fix sends clothes that fit me better and that are fun styles and prints I don’t find in the stores– all without leaving the house or do much leg work at all.
Stitch Fix Summer Unboxing :: What they sent!
I shared these pics on Instagram and enjoyed seeing everyone’s feedback on the pieces from my box. I will definitely do that again in the future.
If you are tired of traditional clothing shopping or just want to treat yourself to a box of stylish clothes/shoes/jewelry, you can sign up and try Stitch Fix for free (the styling fee will be waived and you will get a box at no cost, then you can decide what you want to keep or send back).
Three quick tips for getting the most out of Stitch Fix ::
- Fill out the initial style profile, and then take the available “quizzes” to let them know exactly what you like and don’t like
- Join the Facebook Stitch Fix Buy/Sell/Trade group. If you like 3 or 4 pieces in your fix and still want the 25% discount, you can list the other piece(s) to see if anyone wants to buy it. You will both benefit from saving money on the pieces.
- Try on your pieces more than once at home, in good lighting, and when you feel like you look nice (make sure you’ve showered, haha). You’ll get a better idea of what the clothes look like on you, and one of the biggest advantages of Stitch Fix is being able to try on the clothes at home, with other pieces you already own in your closet.
Okay, here’s what came in my summer Stitch Fix box! Let me know what you think in the comments!
Verse :: Alecto Halter Top :: $38
I LOVE this top! It feels light and breezy (I’m going to use this phrase a lot because it’s probably the most important thing ever in the summer) and the pattern is so pretty. It also fits perfectly.
VERDICT :: KEEP!
Fun2Fun :: Arvie Crochet Detail Top :: $40
I really like the colors in the top, and again, light and breezy. The detailing at the neckline is fun and feminine. With the 25% discount, the price is more doable.
VERDICT :: KEEP
Z Supply :: Tamika V Neck Knit Top :: $36
I really like this top. It’s so much my style, but I don’t need any more t-shirts, at least not in this fix. I will keep it in mind for future requests, though, because it fits perfectly.
VERDICT :: Sell on Facebook Buy/Sell/Trade group with the discount.
Papermoon :: Arlene Halter Blouse :: $38
I’m a sucker for everything mustard! The print on this shirt is so pretty, and (wait for it…) it’s light and breezy. I don’t have any halter tops, but I’m not opposed to them and am really happy with the fit on both of the tops they sent.
VERDICT :: KEEP!
Colette :: Romey Cold Shoulder Knit Top :: $34
I wanted to like this top because it was really soft and I like the color, but the fit wasn’t quite right (too short) and I still don’t think cold shoulder tops are really my style. Every so often Stitch Fix likes to send me one to try, but I haven’t found one I really like yet. Maybe one day!
VERDICT :: Sell on Facebook Buy/Sell/Trade group with the discount.
Thankfully, I was able to quickly find homes for the two shirts I didn’t want to keep, so I was still able to get the 25% off discount since I was technically buying all five items from my box. I had some credit in my account, so all three shirts were about $40.
At the beginning of the year, I bought a Style Pass which means my styling fees are waived for the year. So it’s literally no cost to request a box. I think I’d like to get one more box this summer, maybe with some fun jewelry. My birthday is the first day of August and I think I will order a birthday box again this year, since last year my birthday box was a complete keeper!
Want to give Stitch Fix a try?
First time users can try it for free! If you’ve tried it before, it’s just a $20 styling fee (which I would inevitably spend anyway if I left the house to shop) which will be applied to anything you decide to buy.
Why not request a box and see what they send? Be specific about your needs, preferences (including cost), and style. You could end up with a few new favorite pieces in your closet!
Love all three on you. Keepers.
