This is my favorite way to remove stains from Instant Pots! In ten minutes or less, my pot can be sparkly and stain-free!
There is a special kind of satisfaction that comes from quick cleaning tasks where the before and after is quite obvious. A little elbow grease and about ten minutes can go a long way.
I always find it equally remarkable and gross when I wipe down door frames and the area around door knobs. The build up of oils, dirt, and other kid-related grime goes away with a little persuasion and as soon as I see the clean white wood underneath, I always think I should be better about wiping them down more regularly.
And then another (I won’t admit how long) goes by, and the same thought crosses my mind once again. Oh well.
Even if I’m not the best about cleaning door frames, I am pretty good about getting my Instant Pots sparkly and stain-free. I use my Instant Pots daily (I have three now!), and for daily use, I just clean them with soap and water. But they get stained over time and I will batch clean the inner pots until they shine.
Bar Keeper’s Friend is AMAZING at removing the stains from my Instant Pots. And, thankfully, it’s quick and easy too. The whole process only takes about ten minutes.
(We prefer the powder cleaner, but the liquid cleaner works well too).

- Liberally sprinkle on the Bar Keeper’s Friend.
- Let the cleaner sit for five minutes.
- Wipe the pots with a paper towel. Scrub the stains.
- Rinse the pots.
- Scrub any stains you missed.
- Rinse again.
- Admire the sparkle.
A few weeks ago I did one of those “ask your kids these ten questions” surveys and really laughed that all three of my talking kids said that cleaning was one of my favorite things to do. Ummm, really?
But I guess when they see me doing it so much, it makes sense that they would think that. After thinking about it a little more myself, I have realized that, yeah, I do kind of like cleaning. I certainly like the results.
Does this mean I have fully arrived at adulthood?
What do you use to clean your Instant Pots?

My instant pots have been dying for a thorough cleaning; those pesky stains from overuse are so irritating. I’m going to try out the Bar Keeper’s Friend Cleanser, and see how it works on my pots.
I like to use Bon Ami or baking soda. They don’t scratch so I tend to use them for a lot of things. I don’t use my pot as much as you, so the milder cleanser still works:)
